Novastan
Novastan is the only European media entirely dedicated to post-Soviet Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan). Launched in Bishkek in 2011, it is now based in Paris and Berlin, and publishes online in French, German and English.
Le Courrier d’Europe Centrale
Le Courrier d’Europe Centrale is the Francophone reference media in Central Europe. Based in Budapest, it relies on a wide network of correspondents in the region to offer daily news, interviews, and reports on Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Romania.
Kafkadesk
Founded in 2018, Kafkadesk is a news and feature online media covering Central Europe and Visegrad Group countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary). Its network of writers and contributors are dedicated to fostering a better understanding of a region that receives little international attention.
Vlast
Vlast.kz is an independent online news media that covers political, social, economic, and cultural issues in Kazakhstan. Established in 2012, they have been publishing reportage, analytics, investigations, big stories, and expert opinions following important events in the country with strict adherence to ethical journalism.
New Eastern Europe
New Eastern Europe is the exclusive bimonthly news magazine dedicated to Central and Eastern European affairs published by the Jan Nowak-Jeziorański College of Eastern Europe in Wrocław. The editorial offices are located in Kraków, Poland. The mission of New Eastern Europe is to shape the debate, enhance understanding, and further the dialogue surrounding issues facing the states that were once a part of the Soviet Union or under its influence. New Eastern Europe is not a scholarly journal, but takes a more journalistic approach with commentary/analysis from journalists, experts, analysts, writers, historians, as well as leaders and political figures from the East and the West.
Voices on Central Asia
Voices on Central Asia is a new platform for scholars, authors, and journalists interested in Central Asia. It provides them with innovative visual tools with which to interact with a worldwide audience. Research insights, policy discussions, fieldwork recollections, photos, charts, and data—all are made available in an appealing and concise format, engaging viewers and inviting opinions from around the globe on everything that matters for and about Central Asia.
Lazy Women
Lazy Women is an open platform created by young women to amplify the voices of those identifying with womanhood all over the world. Lazy Women consists of a growing team of writers and creatives, from a wide range of nationalities, disciplinary backgrounds and lived experiences.
osTraum
osTraum is a German online journal founded in 2016 in Berlin by Maria Gerasimova & Aleksej Tikhonov. The idea behind osTraum was and is to compensate the deficit of cultural topics from Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe, the Baltics, the Caucasus, and Central Asia in German media. With several hundred articles and a team of around 20 authors, osTraum is today the most-read German online medium in this range of topics.
Polski Kot
Polski Kot is a non-profit cultural association founded in Turin in 2011 by Alessandro Ajres. It is dedicated to a wide range of cultural, artistic, and educational activities. Polski Kot organizes events, literary presentations, roundtables, translation workshops, film screenings, and concerts to create a dialogue and a cultural exchange. Since March 2015, the pride and joy of Polski Kot is Slavika Festival, the first Italian festival entirely dedicated to the Slavic cultures, starting from the rational streets of Turin and reaching all the way the edge of Vladivostok.

Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies (JSIPS), University of Tartu, Estonia
JSIPS combines both top-level scholarly research and an international learning environment at all three levels of higher education. The research areas within JSIPS encompass the main subfields of Political Science (Comparative Politics, International Relations, Political Theory) as well as area studies (Russian and East European Studies, European Studies).
